Janice LaBarge: Multi-Medium Painter

I find inspiration in the world around me: a scene, a shape, movement, motion.

I try to capture the essence of my inspiration using the medium that I feel will

best express it, whether it’s watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, photography, clay

or my favorite: encaustic painting:

There is something about working with hot pigmented wax: the way it moves

when molten to the way that motion is frozen in time as it cools and solidifies.

There are so many ways to create with it which satisfies my need to change

direction when the mood strikes.  And sometimes it strikes often.
